NANAIMO CONCERT BAND - FREE OUTDOOR SUMMER CONCERT

Spend a casual evening by the beautiful Nanaimo Harbourfront. The Nanaimo Concert Band will present a light-hearted and fun concert – that the whole family can enjoy. Bring a chair or blanket, pack a picnic dinner, or avail yourself of the food trucks in the park. It’s going to be a fun night of music.

NANAIMO CONCERT BAND has been performing live music and serving the community of Nanaimo continuously since 1872. The Nanaimo Concert Band is proud to be known as one of Canada’s oldest continuous operating concert bands. During the mining era that established the City of Nanaimo the Mining Community formed a Colliery Brass Band under the leadership of a major BC historical figure, Rev. James Reynard.

Today, the Nanaimo Concert Band consists of 45 volunteer musicians (woodwind, brass and percussion) under the Musical Direction of Conductor Marc Hayes. Marc Hayes has been inspiring the band and entertaining audiences since taking over the Musical Direction in September 2023.

NANAIMO CONCERT BAND will deliver what it has become known and loved for since 1872… a program well played, always entertaining, and leaving the audience wanting more!
