Nanaimo Community Kitchens Society is stepping up fundraising efforts with its Oktoberfest Cash Bash. This burger & beverage fundraiser will be held on Thursday October 11 at The Courts Pub in Nanaimo. The fun starts at 6pm and there will be a chance to do some strategic shopping at the silent and live auctions. It will be a night to meet with friends, dress up to celebrate the season and support Nanaimo Community Kitchens programs that are cooking together to create a healthier community.

Since 1991, the Nanaimo Community Kitchens Society (NCKS) has provided access to economical, nutritious food for families and individuals living on a restricted income. Through cooperative meal planning and preparation, participants in NCKS programs gain knowledge and skills in cooking, budgeting, shopping, food safety and nutrition.

NCKS offers a variety of programs and partners with agencies such as Tillicum Lelum, Loaves & Fishes, the Women�s Center, the Immigrant Welcome Center, Snuneymuxw First Nation, and Vancouver Island Health Authority.
