Nanaimo Community Gardens Plant and Seed Sale
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
In the absence of a greenhouse to start seedlings this year, greenhouse volunteers have been growing seedlings in their own homes to share with the community. These volunteers will be selling an ever-changing variety of plants and seeds every Wednesday through April and May from 10 to noon at the Beban Park Greenhouse site beside the pitch and putt. For more information on how to find the site contact Pat at [email protected]
In addition, volunteers will be selling plants and seeds at two Island Roots Market days – April 6th and May 4th from 3 to 6 pm at Pleasant Valley Hall, 6100 Doumont Road (Off Metral Drive).
Currently available seedlings include luscious lettuce varieties, several types of herbs, including French tarragon which is often hard to come by, some kale varieties and a few other edible plants ready to go in the garden. Given the weather we are having, by planting these veggies now, one can have an extra early crop of homegrown treats.
