Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club and the Nanaimo Rowing Club Kraft Canada Celebration Tour

The Nanaimo Canoe & Kayak Club and the Nanaimo Rowing Club were nominated for the Kraft Canada Celebration Tour and on July 1 Nanaimo was named a Top 10 Kraft Celebration Tour community. The clubs will be presented with a cheque for $25,000 at a community BBQ on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Maffeo Sutton Park between 1:00 � 3:00 pm which they will use for improvements to the Nanaimo Community Boathouse and Public washroom. TSN will host a live broadcast of SPORTSCENTRE with anchors Darren Dutchyshen and Kate Beirness from 3:00-4:00 pm.

Community members participated in a Canada-wide online vote on July 21-22 to decide the winner of this year�s new $100,000 Kraft Celebration Tour grand prize. The grand prize winner will be revealed on SPORTSCENTRE on August 25 � the day after the final Kraft Celebration Tour stop. Please come celebrate with a BBQ, family activities, watch a live TSN broadcast and participate in the festivities cheering on Nanaimo in hopes of becoming the grand prize winner.
