The Nanaimo Buccaneers will be part of the VIJHL and will be positioned in the Northern Division along with the Oceanside Generals, Comox Valley Glacier Kings and Campbell River Storm. Games will be Thursday nights at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Team owners are Phil & Brenda Levesque. Head Coach & GM is Brad Knight. Assistant Coach is Glen Smith, who is also Director of Player Personnel.

It�s been a fun filled 2 year process and we would like to say thank you to all the people who have helped us along the way.

We have strong ties to the Nanaimo Hockey Community and are mindful of the fact that there is limited ice time available at NIC. All of our practice times are in blocks that are not currently being used by any user groups. We�ll be there at 6:30 in the morning, and weekday afternoons. We intend to work alongside Nanaimo Minor Hockey, and the North Island Silvertips to help in the area of player development.

Now the hard work begins. We need players, volunteers, billet families, sponsors and fans. We won�t win every game, but we plan to take our unfair share of them!

We�re not the first Junior B team in Nanaimo. The original team played here in the early 70�s in Nanaimo and included a number of people that are still a part of Nanaimo...and we would like to reach out to them to contact us. We are excited to announce our inaugural prospects camp will be held at Nanaimo Ice Centre � June 15/16. Because there is limited ice available, we are only accepting 80 players for this camp.

We are looking for players whose birth year is 1995 through 1992 who have played at a competitive level and are looking to advance their hockey careers. For further details and registration forms, please email us at: [email protected]

Our Main camp will be August 17-19; exhibition games late August and our home opener will be shortly after Labour Day Weekend.

Games will be Thursday nights here at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
