Storytelling with Robert Guest | Saturday, February 6, 2 pm to 4 pm

In conjunction with Silva Part II: Booming Grounds, Nanaimo based painter Robert Guest will tell stories from the 23 summers he spent working on forest fire lookout towers in Alberta, observing and painting the landscape. Guest will also share some more of his paintings with those in attendance.
Artist's Biography
Robert Guest trained as an artist at the Banff School of Fine Arts, and the Alberta College of Art. He earned a degree in Art Education from the University of Alberta, and became an instructor at Grande Prairie Regional College. Guest founded or co-founded the Alberta Art Foundation (1972), the Prairie Art Gallery (1975), the Peace Watercolour Society (1976), and the Grande Cache Watercolour Society (1995). Guest has received numerous awards for his work, and his paintings reside in collections in North America and Europe. Guest recently relocated to Nanaimo, where he currently lives and works.
