Aimed at all levels, this special workshop is held in conjunction with Sara Robichaud�s exhibition of abstract paintings �Double Life� at theNanaimoArtGallery. In the morning you will meet the artist and be treated to a brief tour of her exhibit. You will learn more about Robichaud�s paintings and gain insight into how an artist develops ideas and concepts for abstract work. Through creative exercises and discussion, you will explore your own ideas. Then, using drawing and collage, you will create a small work that explores your �theme.� Now, with a clearer understanding of what, and how, you want to paint, you will work on a large panel with acrylics and receive individual instruction on developing your painting. Basic acrylic techniques and colour theory will be demonstrated. This is an exploratory workshop, and at the end of the day you will be much clearer about what you would like to paint, and how to paint it.
