Two Saturdays November 17 and 24: 10am � 4pm

Open to beginner and intermediate students, this acrylic landscape painting workshop is designed to cover the basics needed in order to paint a West Coast landscape. Starting with drawing, students will learn how to begin sketching the landscape. You will start by identifying a focal point and learn how to make thumbnail sketches. You will then learn how to identify value patterns and shapes, and how to work up a detailed sketch to transfer to canvas. Moving onto painting with acrylic, colour choices will be made from a limited palette that encourages colour mixing in order to achieve harmony. You will also be instructed on a variety of painting and brushwork techniques as you complete your West Coast landscape painting.
