Digital Photography and Video for Beginners

Do you have a digital camera or digital video camera you would like to know more about? Perhaps you know how to take photographs, but did you know that most digital cameras can also be used to make digital videos? In this beginner�s workshop, technical neophytes are very welcome.

We will start the day with some history and analysis of film as an art form, and discuss why certain films are considered classics. Viewing scenes from critically acclaimed films, such as Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Psycho and Days of Heaven, you will learn how the film image is composed. You will then have the opportunity to put your new knowledge to practical use. Common elements of digital photography and digital video cameras will be explained, and you will receive personalized attention as you practice composing your own images, with your own camera. Please bring your own digital camera and/or digital video camera.
$80 plus HST: bring your own camera, all other supplies included.
