Instructor: Naomi Beth Wakan
Join Nanaimo’s inaugural Poet Laureate, Naomi Beth Wakan, for this poetry workshop and conversation about the experience of aging. To begin, enjoy a 20 minute presentation and reading by Wakan and explore various ways in which the aging process can be represented in poetic styles like tanka and haiku. While it is not essential to be a poet, or even a writer for this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring a poem about aging by a favourite poet (no more than 20 lines) describing the aging process, to share with the group.
