Beginner Etching Series (Copperplate) Registration Code: 135934

Saturday March 14, 21 and 28 from 12:30-3:30pm Cost: $175.00 plus GST (for 3 classes)

Instructor: Aaramë Robillard

Learn the basics of copperplate etching in this 3-day intensive workshop. Participants will learn how to apply hard and soft ground resists and produce an image on a copper plate using a non-toxic low-acidity etchant, how to prepare a work station, apply ink for printing, and create a small edition of prints. We will be printing with oil-based etching inks. Check out 'Record, (Re)create: Contemporary Coast Salish Art from the Salish Weave Collection' at the campus gallery January 10 – April 11 to experience how Coast Salish artists work with form and various media, such as printmaking.
