The 24th Annual General Meeting of the Nanaimo & Area Land Trust (NALT) will take place on May 8th, 2019 at Bowen Park Centre, Activity Room #1 (500 Bowen Road), doors open at 5 pm, business begins at 5:15 until 6 pm. Agenda items will include a presentation of the 2018 Year-End Financial Statements, Board and Staff annual reports and elections to the Board of Directors.

The Nanaimo & Area Land Trust (NALT) is a registered charity and society in operation since 1995. NALT’s mission is to promote and protect the natural values of land in the Nanaimo area. NALT uses many tools to accomplish this mission, such as our native plant nursery, education, restoration and conservation covenants, but perhaps is best known for securing habitat such as what is now the Cottle Lake Park in Linley Valley and the Mount Benson Regional Park.

At 6:15 pm there will be a presentation of the NALT 2019 – 2021 Strategic Plan. Those attending this year’s Annual General Meeting on May 8th will have a chance to hear about NALT’s plans for the future. The meeting will feature a presentation by NALT’s strategic planning committee which, over the winter, created a plan to steer the organization over the next three years. With input from the board, employees, and other members of the NALT community the committee has come up with recommendations to heighten NALT’s public profile, sharpen the focus of its activities, and generate more activity to support, promote and protect the natural values of land and water in the our area.

A “build a bun” light supper will be available.

Board election candidate biographies will also soon be available on the website and for pick-up at the office.
