Musical Theatre Pirate Adventure With Lindsay Suddaby at the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music

This year the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music’s Musical Theatre program is pirate-themed and runs March 14-18, 2016 for children aged 6-12 years old.

Instruction is from 10 am- 4 pm but working parents can take advantage of supervised care from as early as 8:30 am and as late as 5 pm.

This workshop will teach students to build confidence and learn about co-operation with others and allows students to express themselves creatively through singing, drama and stage movement with gifted NCM instructor and Nanaimo Youth Choir assistant director Lindsay Suddaby.

The program offers exceptional performance training, with a focus on theatrical characterization, teamwork, exploring creativity and problem solving. A native of Nanaimo, Lindsay grew up singing in choirs, and carried that love of singing through years in university studying science, musical theatre, and creative writing.

Now a graduate of the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Music in voice, Lindsay has returned to her home city to share music with others in a professional capacity. The class theme includes a sailing off on imaginary oceanscapes on a pirate voyage with colorful scallywag musical theatre characters like Bluebeard, Yellowbeard, Whitebeard, Purplebeard and No Beards on the Jolly Roger for an exciting classroom adventure on the imaginary rolling high seas!

The Early Bird price for this program is $250.00 if students register by the end of February 2016. Beginning in March the course fees will increase to $350.00.
