Music, the Food of Love
Featuring the music of Via Choralis Chamber Choir, Claremont Choir, Cordova Bay Chime choir and special guest soloists Nicholas Fairbank with an organ solo, Braden Young as pianist, Phillip Manning on violin and Ashley Green on cello.
The Outreach Ministry team at Cordova Bay United Church is aiming to build and deepen just relationships to serve local and international need, which lead to arranging this concert for Syrian food aid.
The war in Syria is now almost three years old. The only end in sight would be to end the fighting. Almost an incomprehensible number of six million people who have fled the violence are in need of shelter, safety, food and most of all, knowing that the world cares.
Proceeds from the music concert will be administered by the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, who has a partnership of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies working to end global hunger. The Outreach teams goal is to reach $5 000 which will be more than doubled by the Foodgrains Bank. Once planning is complete, including details to ensure safe and reliable delivery, the Canadian Foodgrains Bank arranges the purchase and shipping of the food to the people in most need on the ground in Syria.
