"Music Of The Whole Earth" is a harmonic coming-together of a range of performers, from chamber choir Voces Intimae, singing folksongs of the British Isles arranged by Percy Grainger, to folk band Jamshed, rocking instrumental music from Europe to South America. The Victoria Doukhobor Choir and the Balkan Babes draw on the folk traditions and haunting vocal harmonies of Eastern Europe. "Music Of The Whole Earth" is sure to delight classical music lovers as well as aficionados of world folk music.

About the performers:

Voces Intimae's repertoire over the last 10 years has ranged from Okeghem to Coldplay, with an emphasis on Slavonic sacred music and the cantatas of Bach. Performing three concerts a year on only a few weeks' rehearsal, the choir is thrilled to be singing in English for once!

The Victoria Doukhobor Choir uses music to strengthen the presence of the Westcoast Doukhobors while sharing their culture with the broader community. They have performed throughout the Pacific Northwest, using their unique sound to promote global unity through the harmony of the human voice.

Jamshed is a quartet of �classical� musicians who also love to play the folk music of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and beyond. Kate Rhodes, Rainer Roth, Tony Booker, and Alex Olson create a vibrant ethnic sound with accordion, clarinet, double bass, violin, voice, and other instruments.

The Balkan Babes: nine women, no director - just a love for the penetrating harmonies, asymmetric rhythms, unusual ornamentations and powerful emotions that characterize the rich and timeless folk music of Eastern Europe. Their a cappella repertoire is primarily drawn from the Balkan region, but ranges as far afield as Georgia and Ukraine.
