The Music for Young Children students in Port Alberni are getting ready for their Spring recital to be held at Char�s Landing on Sunday May 4th at 2pm. This program was created in Ontario in 1980 and has become popular all across Canada, and in the United States and Asia. Music for Young Children has been in the Alberni Valley since 1986. Children are taught in small groups, along with their parents, using a mixture of rhythm, movement, singing and musical theory. MYC teachers create a vibrant dynamic learning environment using a mixture of visual and auditory aids, physical movement, hands on activities and fun critters to teach theory and musicianship. Parents of children in the program are often amazed by how much their youngsters are able to accomplish through MYC. Come out and see what these young people can do.
