Music for Africa
Repertoire from classical to jazz to rousing choral selections will be performed by exceptional young musicians in a gala charity recital. Stirring performances on piano, strings, woodwinds and voice relay the passion of these students. The lineup includes Symphony Splash 2012 Young Soloist 18 year old violinist, Eehjoon Kwon. and the University of Victoria's Chamber Singers. Funds raised will support women and children in four HIV / Aids projects in South Africa, Zambia and Malawi through the local grassroots registered society, African Aids Angels. Angels and refreshments will be for sale before the concert and at intermission. As well, a wonderful selection of silent auction items will be on offer.
Tickets will be for sale at Ivy Books, Long & McQuade and at the door. Please come join these supremely talented students as they share their music and find innovative ways to bring joy to the world!
