Our next Explorer Day is on Sunday, 10/22, 1-3pm in Lake Cowichan. Mushroom Walk & Talk All mushrooms are fungi but not all fungi are mushrooms. Fungi recyle plants after they die and transform them into rich soil.
Come on a walk with this month's Nature Mentor, Ingeborg Woodsworth and learn how to spot mushrooms and ways to enjoy them. Location: Lake Cowichan
Pre-registration is required and exact location will be given, if space allows. NatureKids members get first priority. We will accept your RSVPs now.
Cost: Kids - free. Adults - $5 each (cash, please)
During the Mushroom Walk/Talk, biologist & film maker, Elke Wind will be taking non-intrusive footage for a NatureKids short film. She may even ask you/your child to say some things about NatureKids. If you prefer not to be part of the film, please let us know prior to the event. ** All attendees are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes BEFORE 1pm. Parking is limited. More details will follow, when RSVPs are received.
