Salt Spring Islanders can view a special screening of Project Wild Thing, a film that aims to reconnect kids with nature.
Timed with Earth Day celebrations, the Wednesday, April 23 screening at The Fritz cinema gives the entire family a chance to watch a film and engage in a timely conversation.
Project Wild Thing is an ambitious, feature-length documentary that takes a funny and accessible look at a complex issue, the increasingly fragile connection between children and nature, explains press material from the Centre for Child Honouring, which is sponsoring the screening. The aim is to kickstart a movement for social change, which gets kids playing outside freely and re-connecting with the natural world. A trailer can be seen at www.projectwildthing.com.
People should come early to get a seat for the show, which begins at 7 p.m.
Admission is a suggested $10 donation. Proceeds go to the Centre for Child Honouring.
