The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is thrilled to once again welcome back a long standing tradition of big screen releases to the community through our regularly scheduled Tuesday movie nights in the David Foster Foundation Theatre.
With the new release of The Great Gatsby we decided to pay tribute to the collection of fast-paced, artisticly creative, and musically rich film�s from award-winning director Baz Luhrmann. Enjoy epic love stories, splashy set designs, hollywoods biggest stars and uniquely memorable movies amongst friends starting at 6:15pm.
Have your choice of mini pulled-pork sliders or mini fish & chips, house-made buttered popcorn and ice cream pie for dessert. Purchase one of our micro-brews, fine wines or favourite libations, sit back in our movie chair seats and enjoy Strictly Ballroom on our big screen, amongst friends for $24 per person + tax.

This wildly off-beat comedy is about a male dancer (Paul Mercurio) who refuses to follow the accepted rules of ballroom dancing and creates his own style of choreography, which infuriates the ballroom dancing establishment. Before he�s scheduled to compete in the Pan-Pacific ballroom championships, he�s forced to take up a new partner (Tara Morice), a beginner who initially seems without promise. With his help, she turns into an assured and wonderful dancer. Baz Luhrmann�s visual style is bright, gaudy and exaggerated, yet he treats his characters with compassion, which makes Strictly Ballroom such an engaging comedy.
