Moonshine Mollys Christmas Concert and CD Release

The Moonshine Mollys are at it again! This time with a new Christmas cd! The cd features old Christmas classics such as Winter Wonderland and Silent Night all done in good ol' Molly style. The girls recorded the cd at Moko Productions in Errington and will debut the album at a Christmas Concert and Cd Release party at St. Philip Church in Cedar on Dec. 7. Show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Proceeds from the tickets sales will go directly into funding children's programs at St. Philip. They will also be performing at Santa's Workshop downtown Nanaimo on Dec. 21 at 2pm.

The Moonshine Mollys are a local Vancouver Island trio made up of Cassandra Smith, Mitra Kostamo and Rene Qualizza. The Mollys perform country music and have a style similar to the Dixie Chicks.The girls have been quite busy performing at various venues and charity events this past year and hope that will continue into the new year. Performing for local charity events is a top priority for the Mollys. "We believe that if we can give back to the community with our music, then that makes performing all the more worthwhile!" said Mitra Kostamo.
They have also recently produced a music video for their acapella arrangement of Down int he River to Pray. The video was shot on location at Englishman River Falls and produced by Fish Video Productions based out of Nanaimo.
