Monster Energy Motocross Nationals Round 1 and Amateur Day

There will be some of the best Pro riders from around the world coming to town to put on a show you�ll never forget. Also Saturday is the Amateur Day event featuring Island and Mainland riders of all ages. If you�re 12 years old and under and accompanied by an adult, just mention �MX2013� at the front gate and you can get in free! Bring your friends, bring your family. It�s going to be this year�s most exciting event on the Island! Here's some details...

Track Closure: The Wastelands will be closed from Monday through Friday until 4pm for event preparation. The only exceptions will be for event staff, select volunteers and those with reserved Prime Pits for camping. No early camping will be permitted.

Camping: See the VIMX website or Facebook page for special Prime Pit camping reservation details. At 4pm on Friday the gate will open to the public for weekend camping entry on a first come first served basis. Weekend camping rates are $30 for tents and campers and $50 for trailers and motorhomes.

Saturday: June 1st is Nationals Amateur Day and the Island Championship Series Round 8. Gates open at 7am, signup from 7am-7:45am, riders meeting at 8am, practice starts at 8:30am with morning and afternoon racing to follow.

Sunday: June 2nd is the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals Opening Round. Gates open at 7am, Pro Practice at 8am, qualifying at 9:20am, Opening Ceremonies at 11:50am, Moto 1 starts at 12:10pm, Moto 2 starts at 1:30pm.

Admission: Weekend admission is Adults $40, Under 12 $25 (FREE if you say "MX2013" at the gate and Pre-schoolers FREE! Sunday admission is Adults $25, Under 12 $15, Pre-schoolers FREE! Tickets are available at the gate from 7am on both days.

Directions:
From Duke Point Ferry or South Island take Hwy 19, left on Jinglepot Road (exit 24), right on Biggs Road, 5kms to Wastelands MX on right.
From Departure Bay Ferry take Hwy 19A, left on Mostar, cross Hwy 19, right on Biggs Road, 5kms to Wastelands MX on right.
From North Island follow Hwy 19, right on Jingle Pot Road, right onto Biggs Road, 5kms to Wastelands MX on right.

Concessions: There will be a number of food concessions on site for the weekend including Just Fries, K&K Hotdogs, AJ's, Grill It and Victorian Ice Cream.
