The 34th annual Miners Memorial, presented by the Cumberland Museum and Archives, acknowledges, celebrates, and commemorates labour and working history. Join us for an exciting weekend of programming including workshops, poetry readings, guided tours, ‘Songs of the Workers’ pub night, a BBQ, Graveside Ceremonies honoring fallen miners and their families, and more.
This year we go from global to local with presentations on mining in South Africa, a TheatreWorks production on Mother Jones and the March of the Mill Children, and new museum exhibits including Coal, Conflict, and Community, and the new Royston Lumber Mill Exhibit.
All are welcome to join us to participate in this significant Cumberland tradition.
