7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Milk Crate Bandits are one of Vancouver’s best traditional jazz bands. They have released two EPs, The Neighbourhood and The View From Out Here both of which were recorded in New Orleans with Preservation Hall Trumpet player Kevin Louis.

After a successful tour of BC in November 2017, featuring Brad Shigeta (Ellington Orchestra, Illinois Jacquet) The Neighbourhood hit #1 on the CBFX jazz charts. Following on from this success Milk Crate Bandits present a night of high-energy New Orleans jazz, intimate acoustic moments and cheeky vocals at Ground Zero Acoustic Lounge.

An all-star cast of young musicians including Australian bandleader Jack Ray who has been dubbed as the 'future of jazz banjo' by hall-of-famer Eddy Davis, bassist Ben Dwyer, and Joseph Abbott on clarinet!

Praise for Milk Crate Bandits ‘“The Neighbourhood” is an incredible integration of New Orleans authentic jazz, scenic Vancouver lyrical illustrations, and original composing that results in a stunning collection of new music’ - Vintage Swing Review (2017)
