We are pleased to introduce microfinance client Maria de los Angeles Ordonez as our keynote speaker:
At age 13, Maria quit school to join the family business selling water and tortillas, but it was not enough for their family of 9. In 1999, after a series of jobs, Maria received her first loan from Opportunity International, beginning an entrepreneurial journey that would weather an economic downturn and a military coup, and increase her income from $15/month to $1,300/month.
Maria is a testament to Opportunity International�s mission that empowers people to work their way out of chronic poverty, transforming their lives, their childen�s futures, and their communities.
