About the Artists
Gail Ralphs is a recognized supporter of the The Arts Council of Ladysmith and District. Her mediums include Oil Acrylic Pastel Watercolor and Encaustic. She is usually at the easel in her studio space at the Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery. Gail enjoys heading a class of adults, with different abilities, where her students have flourished creating a body of work for various group shows. Gail was born and raised on Vancouver Island, Canada.
Claudia Lohman has been a full time, professional artist since 2011. Working from her studio on DeCourcy Drive, her gallery is open to the public during the Cedar Yellow Point Artisan Association Spring and Christmas Tours and select days during the summer. Her paintings began with rudimentary geometric shapes in intricate patterns and bold colours in daring combinations. Although still rooted in her beginnings, her style has since progressed into an ever more deliberate method featuring bold lineation and tincture with subtle shapes and symbolism. She calls it “imaginative geometric abstract.” Claudia was born and raised in Germany.
Award winning Ruben Galdame’s ceramic sculptures are spell bounding. Mythical and ethereal, they evoke strong responses. His pieces have caused quite a stir in the artist community and he is quickly getting a large following. Ruben was born and raised in Chile.
Anthony Cateaux has worked as a Blacksmith Artisan since 1994. He started AC Designs Ironwork in 1997. Cateaux has been serving customers from all parts of the globe for over two decades. Cateaux moved his family and business from Toronto in 2006 and set up his studio in the lovely hamlet of the Yellow Point area. He works from his studio and is open to the public during the Cedar Yellow Point Artisan Association Spring and Christmas Tours His unique hand crafted forged pieces have been showcased in published table top books, galleries and secured for private collections. Anthony was born in Belfast and raised in Canada and Ireland.
