Sunday, October 6th, 2-4pm, Medicine Hat�s Michael Coughlan songs of revolution tour�folk rock
Michael, founder of his own folk rock band known as 'National Midnight Star', is touring through Alberta and BC with Jay Bowcott (a wonderful songwriter in his own right) to play accompanying guitar, and in late October he'll be recording a 5 song EP with Shannon Lyon. From a lyrical standpoint he paints in bold strokes, delivering unfettered compositions strongly rooted in story. His influences include Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson, The Replacements, Shannon Lyon, Leonard Cohen, Steve Earle, Jay Bowcott (former Art School bandmate), Rush, Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, and many more
