Thursday, April 2nd, 2015
6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Bike Maintenance 201 is designed for the more advanced cyclist who wants to learn how to work on their own bike. Our advanced 201 clinics are held every Thursday and cost $20 to attend.

All 201 clinics are led by a mechanic, and are hands-on. A smaller class size will help to really get you involved and learn a new skill.

*Bike Maintenance 101 is a prerequisite for this course.

Brakes - 201

This clinic is focused on rim brakes, and will touch on disc breaks. By the end of this clinic, participants will be able to:

- Understand the difference between brake types
- Be able to change the pads on rim brakes (both rim and cantilever)
- Be able to adjust the position of the rim brakes
- Know how to change cable and housing for rim brakes
- Know how to maintain their disc brakes
- Know when the bike needs to be taken to the MEC Victoria Bike Shop for service

All tools required will be supplied for the duration of the clinic. If you wish to bring your bike, we will assess the ability to work on it on a case-by-case basis, but please understand that you may not be able to.

All Bike Maintenance Clinics meet in the Cycling Department.

*Clinics are non-refundable, but are transferable
