Resilient Coasts for Salmon (RC4S): Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change
The Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF), in partnership with the Stewardship Centre for British Columbia (SCBC) is implementing a five-year project from 2021 to 2026 called RC4S. This presentation will describe details about this five-year project to increase public awareness about the possible impacts of climate change to the shorelines of East and South Vancouver Island, including how the project team will be working with communities, local governments, stewardship groups, and coastal First Nations to deliver this project. Activities include educational outreach and engagement events, Green Shores training, and opportunities for community members to be involved in citizen science through local shoreline mapping work. Speakers are Kyla Sheehan and Maria Catanzaro, Pacific Salmon Foundation, and Kelly Loch, Resilient Coasts for Salmon.
