March Against Monsanto. Say no to genetically engineered / modified (GE/GMO) organisms. Courtenay City Council is drafting a procurement policy in favour of local and organic foods. The local group GE Free Comox Valley is hosting the March Against Monsanto. A rally with speakers, music and sign making will start at noon.
Leslie Cox, also known as the Dutchess of Dirt, will be headlining, joined by musicians Linda Safford, Judy Norbury, and Joanna Finch.
The rally and march are a family friendly event, with the theme, Healthy Seeds, Healthy Planet. Bring your own signs, banners and music makers.
The March, leaving at 1 pm is on the sidewalk from Simms Park, along Comox Road, over the 17th Street bridge, and stopping at City Hall.
