Maple Bay Painters is once again holding its Fall Art Show at St. Peter’s Church Hall on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. This annual event showcases the artistic talents of this group of local artists. There will be over 100 original artworks on view at the show, including a display of smaller works entitled “Glimpses of our Warmland”.
In 2017 Maple Bay Painters will celebrate their 50th year, quite a milestone for this local group which now has 50 members. The painters’ personal styles lend a great diversity to the works produced, be it local scenery or abstracts and as the club grows and expands so does the variety and caliber of the art work. “I think I’m typical of one of our members,” says President Diana Batcheler, who joined three years ago. “I had been to see some of their shows and was encouraged by the welcoming and supportive atmosphere of the group.” “New members are always welcome, no matter if they are tentative beginners like I was,” says Batcheler, “or if they are seasoned artists.
The upcoming Fall Art Show is a great place for anyone interested to come by and talk with us and join us in celebrating our beautiful Valley.”
