Malaspina Choir: Sing Along Messiah

Sing-along Messiahs are a tradition in many communities and Nanaimo is no exception. Our seventh annual performance is your opportunity to be a chorister with the Malaspina Choir as we sing Handel's transcendent Messiah under the direction of Lionel Tanod. The Cowichan Consort provides the accompaniment along with trumpeter Stevan Paranosic and Sharon Wishart on continuo. Our soloists are Andrea Rodall, soprano; Julia Morgan, alto; David Brown, tenor; and Michael MacKinnon, bass. Exalt the glory of the Lord, tell good tidings to Zion, behold the Lamb of God, sing Hallelujah. And if you'’re not a singer? Well, you will enjoy being surrounded by this incomparable music and hear the trumpet sound. We continue our tradition of sharing proceeds from the concert with a local Nanaimo charity, which this year is the Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Society for its children’s programming. Scores for Messiah will be available for purchase at the door.
