Victoria's first contemporary textiles festival MAKESHIFT takes place over three-days from November 9-11th, 2018 with innovative exhibitions, artists' talks, workshops, a film screening and performance. All events are free to the public and will take place at multiple galleries and sites around Victoria, B.C. with the Atrium (800 Yates Street) acting as headquarters.

Bringing together artists, arts organizations and the general public for exhibitions and events that include over 40 contemporary textile artists MAKESHIFT will create awareness, participation, exchange and dissemination of textile practice as a voice for local contemporary arts and culture. Presented in partnership with the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Atrium, Arc.hive Artist Run Centre, the CRD, Errant Art Space, Fifty-fifty Arts Collective, MediaNet, the Ministry of Casual Living, and Xchanges Gallery. Come join us in celebrating contemporary textiles as a important voice for our creative communities!
