In the morning, choose to participate in one of two streams: --Shoreline and community cleanup. Teams collect the flotsam, jetsum, and trash that has accumulated in Cowichan Bay over the winter. --Marine science for children and families. A beach seine to collect the creatures living in the eelgrass, then a quadrat study to count the creatures living beneath the surface of the beach.
At noon both groups gather together at the Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre for lunch, entertainment, and a birthday cake.
