Set in the 1790s, Love and Friendship centres on beautiful widow Lady Susan Vernon, takes up temporary residence at her in-laws' estate to wait out colourful rumours about her dalliances circulating through polite society. While there, she is determined to be a matchmaker for her rather reluctant debutante daughter Frederica -- and herself too, naturally.
