Local Election Candidates Debate

VIU and the Department of Economics are extremely excited to announce a debate between our local Federal election candidates.
Economic concerns have been at the forefront of the campaign with each party expressing their distinct plans. The event will be a wonderful opportunity for students, faculty and the public to hear directly from the candidates on the issues.
It is the hope of our faculty that the candidates articulate their positions on the economic issues that concern the students, faculty and residents of the area. While the debate will be moderated by Economics faculty, over the past week we have accepted questions from students addressing their concerns. A number of students will be chosen to ask their questions to the candidates at the debate allowing for their direct participation in the political process.
We think it is an extremely exciting event that will greatly enrich the community and university. We thank the candidates with their participation.
