Living on the Water: Landscaping for Streamside Landowners Workshop
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Some of us are lucky enough to live on or near a creek or stream. Your property plays an important role in maintaining water quality and in regulating the amount of water the flows into streams. This in-situ workshop takes place at Grandon Creek in Qualicum Beach, where fisheries biologist Dave Clough will help landowners understand the value of their property in the watershed context and plant biologist Richard Wahlgren of Streamside Native Plants will share ideas for native plant landscaping that provide wildlife habitat and create beautiful, low-maintenance yards. Participants will learn about stream life and storm water management, and take home a native plant seedling to get started!
Participants will meet in Grandon Creek Park, at the Cresent Rd W parking lot. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear!
This FREE workshop is part of the Team WaterSmart 2015 Workshop Series, visit www.teamwatersmart.ca for more information. Please register at 1-888-828-2069 or email [email protected].
