Lift-off to London Celebration

PacificSport Vancouver Island would like to invite you to attend the �Lift-off to London Celebration�. This is a public event showcasing our regional Olympians and Paralympians who will be representing Canada and their home towns at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games in London.

Many former Olympians and high-performance athletes from our region will be in attendance as well as our local, regional and provincial government representatives.

London bound athletes attending and representing
various island communities include:
Tommy Gossland, Nanaimo � swimming
Tony Theriault, Nanaimo � adapted Rower
Trevor Hirschfield, Parksville � wheelchair rugby
Michelle Stilwell, Parksville � wheelchair racer
Cam Levins, Comox Valley � long distance runner
Richard Peter, Duncan � wheelchair basketball
Mike Mason, Nanoose Bay � high-jumper
Of the six lifting-off to the games, five are Olympic Games
veterans. Peter (4), Stilwell (2), Theriault (1), Hirschfield (1) and
Mason (1)

Activities for kids include coloring booths for kids, Canadian tattoos, and large Canadian flags to sign for the athletes.
