Join the "yin and yang of photo education instructors" Boomer Jerritt and Karen McKinnon for this entertaining and thought provoking lecture on the storytelling qualities photographers can bring to their portraiture. Discussion on the process and techniques of Boomer and Karen�s different portrait styles are interwoven into the presentation.
If you are a "newbie" or a seasoned photographer or just a person interested in people you will enjoy this spirited and lively discussion and it may even give you a few ideas for your own "life capturing" moments.
During this one hour presentation, photo equipment choice, lighting, people skills and visual design as they relate to portraiture will be discussed, followed by a question and answer period.
Karen McKinnon, recently a finalist for the Professional Photographer of Canada-BC Photographer of The Year Award for the second year running, is well known for her use of light and the ability to bring out the very best in her portrait subjects.
Boomer Jerritt is a lifestyle and recreation photographer and his editorial imagery can be seen in various tourism initiatives throughout British Columbia. He has completed two regional photography books and currently contributes to some of North America�s top stock agencies and magazines.
Both have taught numerous workshops for hobby photographers, have extensive experience and a phenomenal reputation teaching at professional photography colleges.
Tickets for this event go on sale Saturday, October 19th at the Courtenay and District Museum located at 207 Fourth Street in downtown Courtenay.
