Pattern Making for Knits
[this workshop sold out in February - don't miss the chance in April!]
In this pattern making workshop you will learn proven fashion industry pattern making techniques to professionally draft the women’s basic T-Shirt block using your individual body measurements for a personalized fit. In this hands-on workshop you will draft, sew, and fit a T-Shirt in your own made to measure size, which can then be used to develop other knit top designs. No previous pattern making experience is necessary.
Participants will leave the class with a T-Shirt drafted to their personal size and the knowledge of how to make a Basic T-Shirt for any set of women's body measurements. Included will be instructions on how to draft a perfectly fitting neckband for the neckline and how to correctly add seam and hem allowances on knit patterns. This is the perfect class for aspiring designers and beginner pattern makers, or home sewers wanting to develop their own patterns.
Drafting paper and tools are provided for your use during the workshop.
Please wear a tank top and leggings to the first class to ensure accurate measurements.
