The Salt Spring Forum hosts Canada's current Ambassador to France, Lawrence Cannon, who is uniquely qualified to discuss these issues. Before becoming Ambassador to France, Lawrence Cannon was a senior member of Stephen Harper’s cabinet, serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2008 to 2011, and Minister of Transport from 2006 to 2008.
