If sight problems have stopped you from playing outdoor sports in the summer, then it’s time to try lawn bowling.
Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club has an active section for visually impaired people. We play every Tuesday morning, May through September, at the bowling green next to the Bowen Park complex.
No experience in lawn bowling necessary - we'll teach you what you need to know. We have coaches who have worked with people at all levels of sight impairment. We even provide the equipment.
Several players have won Canadian national blind lawn bowling championships. But we mainly play for the fun of it.
