Lavender and Arts Festival 2015 The Cowichan Valley Lavender Farm & Labyrinth will host its 5th annual” Lavender & Arts Festival” on July 11th 2015 from 10am to 4:30pm, in support of the BC SPCA Cowichan & District. The festival will offer a family-friendly “U-Pick” atmosphere of all things lavender. Stroll in our labyrinth, there are many reasons to walk in our lavender labyrinth, to give thanks, to solve a problem, to take time out, to dream and just for fun!

Cut your own lavender, or buy fresh or dried bundles, sachets and other lavender products. Tasty ‘lavender cookies’ and ‘lavender lemonade’ will be served. The ‘arts’ will be represented by an eclectic group of local painters (one will start the day with a blank canvas – watch as it progresses), photographer will share tips, quilters, a Saori weaver who will show you how weave to add your design by doing a little weaving, pottery and more.

Lavender is one of the most exceptional plants there is. It’s essential oil is well-known for cosmetic uses; however lavender oil has very considerable medicinal potency presenting significant benefits. Simply put its one of the most versatile essential oils in existence. Come and watch demonstrations and learn about Lavender oil extraction by distillation using our Al Ambiq still, a 9th century design, in fact the original design of the ‘Pot Still’ used to make whisky.

Discover how lavender buds are stripped from the stems and try out our lavender de-budding machine designed and created at the farm and built on Vancouver Island now being marketed to the world.
