Dr. Penelope Allison (Professor of Archaeology, University of Leicester) will present a lecture entitled:
“Houses and Households in Pompeii and Herculaneum”
This lecture will take a critical interdisciplinary approach to investigate how the many different types of evidence of Pompeii and Herculaneum can inform us on the ways in which these houses were used and how this might better inform us on household practices throughout the Roman world.
Dr. Allison is an expert on Roman household archaeology, material-culture consumption, space and gender in domestic and frontier spaces, and digital archaeology.
