Ben Braddock, a young naive college graduate is struggling to come to terms with his future. He worries that his family expects too much from him, and feels thoroughly disillusioned heading for a middle-class future (possibly "in plastics"). When the mature Mrs Robinson, a long time friend of the family, seduces him his melancholy takes a turn. However, after he has a date with Mrs Robinson's daughter Elaine, he finally finds some meaning to his life.

'The Graduate' is based on the original novel by Charles Webb and the motion picture screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry. 'The Graduate' is the iconic coming-of-age movie of the 1960s by Mike Nichols starring Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft. Terry Johnson�s adaptation expertly brings the film�s sense of humour and longing to the stage.
