The Town of Lake Cowichan is getting ready to throw the first pitch at the new Centennial Ball Park Fields at their upcoming 75th Anniversary Celebration weekend, August 16th - 18th "This will be the first Mixed League Slo Pitch Tournament since the opening of the new ball fields " according to Ross Forrest, the event coordinator.

"We're excited to be able to bring back the ball tournaments to Lake Cowichan with this new two field ballpark. We are inviting mixed league slo pitch teams from all over to sign up for the tournament, however, teams are limited to 10, and sign up is moving quickly with teams already hearing on the ball fields about our event," he adds.

Teams are guaranteed 4 games each beginning Friday evening and running through to the Sunday afternoon. Team registration is $300 and is sure to be a great tournament with Certified Umpires and prize monies of $1000 First Place, $500 Second Place, and $300 for Third. "This is going to be a FUN ball tournament for our new double ball field, and adding to the event will be a ball field beer garden!" adds Ross.

Registration deadline for teams is Wednesday, August 7th, but Forrest believes the 10 spaces will be filled long before that.
