There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The format is best ball and each player must at least use one tee off during the 9 round of golf. Our event starts off with the steak barbeque dinner with all the trimmings courtesy of Quality Foods, after dinner there will be dessert that is donated by Circle Dairy.
After dinner and dessert we begin some mini games such as wacky tee off, balloon pop, and a putting contest. Before and during dinner there will be a Silent Auction where there are various items donated from 50 businesses and you will be able to bid on the items during these times. Just before Night Golf begins all the prizewinners for Silent Auction will be announced
This year our media sponsors who will be helping us promote our fundraiser up until the event night are 93.3 The Peak, AV News, AV Times and Ha-Shilth-Sa newspaper.
When the dark of the evening begins to approach all the teams (of 6) will be handed all their Night Golf accessories such as glow in the dark golf ball, glow in the dark necklaces/bracelets and then Night Golf fun begins. Each team will start at different holes ranging from 1- 9 so that it does not cause a back up of teams waiting. The fairways of Hollies Executive Golf Course will be decorated with glow sticks so that the golfers are able to see where they and their golf balls are going.
There will be women�s closest to the pin prize and men�s closest to the pin prize, which each team who has each of the opposite sex will have a chance to compete for these prizes, we have a judge at each of these holes to ensure who the prizewinner will be. These are guaranteed getaways. We also have a hole-in one prize that is sponsored by MacDermotts and it is a prize of 10,000. Our Closest to the pin and hole sponsors are Quality Bayside Resort, Royal BC Museum, Jamie�s Whaling Station, Hotel Grand Pacific, Tigh-Na-Mara, Imax Victoria, Macdermotts Insurance, Smittys, Alberni Chrysler, Alberni Toyota, Exhaust Masters, The Coulson Group, Westland Insurance, Chances Rim Rock, Windsor Plywood and MacIntosh, Norton and Williams Company.
The KUU-US Crisis Line Society has a wonderful crew of volunteers who help make the night run smooth and on time. Our volunteers go from cooking dinner, setting up our various areas for our golfers, running silent auction, organizing mini-games, setting up the fairway with glow sticks, judging holes, cleaning up and so much more behind the scenes.
There is no need for experience towards golf; this event is all about fun and games. We look forward to seeing all the golfers come out and enjoy a glowing night of golf! This event sells out quickly so register as an individual, or a team of 4-6. Come on out and experience the thrill of golfing amongst glowing lights� its an adventure to experience! Moneys raised will help to continue the good works done by the 24hr crisis center.
