Kristia Di Gregorio with Tony Di Gregorio is the featured performer at the Victoria Folk Music Society on August 18.

A honeyed voice honed on Canadian folk tunes and jazz standards... Kristia's original songs are drawn from a deep well of personal experience and historical significance. There is the story of the time she cheated death and was plucked out of a raging river by her beloved father who died a few months after; the years of living on a sailboat with her books and her cat; the years of strange coincidence living beside a brothel. She will tell you the secret stories behind paintings and of ghosts and unlikely connections. She will tell you there is meaning in everything... and you will believe her.

Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2006 Vancouver Island Music Awards. Kristia has shared the stage with such artists as The Paperboys, Lily Frost and Kinnie Starr. She has been featured on the Grrls with Guitars album series (Maximum Music / Universal Music Canada) alongside Coco Love Alcorn, Po* Girl, and Christa Couture. Kristia has showcased at Music West, the Western Canadian Music Awards, and Canadian Music Week, and she has performed at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre, The Orpheum, and The Vogue Theatre. Kristia is in the studio working on her follow-up to her last release Any Given Night. Produced by Joby Baker (Cowboy Junkies, Mae Moore, Alex Cuba) The Whiplash Curve is set for release in late 2013.
