KNOX PRESENTS... PHIL DWYER CELEBRATING SPRING JAZZ CONCERT
Knox Presents... CELEBRATING SPRING! - accomplished, Canadian musicians - Phil Dwyer, Ken Lister & Brad Turner in a jazz concert to welcome this joyous time of year.
Saturday, March 25, 7:30 pm at Knox United Church, 345 Pym St, Parksville.
Tickets: $25 advance/$30 door/$15 students - at Knox United Church, Mulberry Bush Book Stores & Oceanside Yoga Centre.
These three, notable entertainers have a musical relationship stretching back over thirty years and will be drawing upon their vast experience and repertoire to welcome the return of spring. Brad and Phil are two of the foremost multi-instrumentalists ever to grace the Canadian stage, so the musical combinations are almost endless.
Join us for this captivating, seasonal celebration, where you can expect to hear some of the many wonderful melodic selections written, to welcome this joyous time of year.

Bios Of These 3 Accomplished Musicians
Phil Dwyer C.M. A member of the Order of Canada and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Conservatory, Phil Dwyer has been a fixture on the Canadian, and international, music scenes since he was a teenager. He has been a featured performer, arranger, composer and/or producer on hundreds of recording sessions including a dozen Juno Award-winning albums and over thirty others which have been nominated. After a successful 15 years in Toronto Phil moved back to his home town of Qualicum Beach in 2004. He continued to tour and record, founded and operated both the Phil Dwyer Academy of Musical and Culinary Arts and, with Claudio Fantinato, SeaWind Musical Instruments.For the last three years Phil has been enrolled in law school and will be graduating in the spring of 2017.
Brad Turner Trumpeter, pianist, drummer and composer Brad Turner is one of Canada’s most in-demand and highly esteemed jazz musicians. Brad has performed and/or recorded with Canadian and international greats. As a leader, Brad has released nine albums, seven as a trumpeter with the Brad Turner Quartet, and two as a pianist with his trio. Three of those releases have been nominated for Juno awards. In 1997 and 1998 Brad won Juno Awards for Best Contemporary Jazz Album recognizing his work in the internationally acclaimed electric jazz group Metalwood. Brad has also been recognized with awards from the National Jazz Awards and the Canada Council, and was the recipient of the 2014 Vancouver Mayor’s Art Award for music.
Ken Lister A professional jazz bassist and teacher for over 30 years, Ken Lister has played, recorded and toured with some of the top musicians in the jazz world, winning the respect of his peers, and two Juno Awards, along the way. Ken has toured extensively in Canada, the United Kingdom, Cuba, South and Central America, as well as Australia. Having started his career in the Vancouver music scene in the 1980s, Ken now lives in Qualicum Beach, teaching and performing locally, as well as maintaining a connection with the Vancouver scene, often collaborating there with visiting jazz legends from New York city.
