A consideration of how combative martial arts give rise to many interesting and perplexing philosophical questions – in particular, the special ethical problems faced by those who practice them.


When learning to do harm, what moral obligations exist towards training partners, adversaries, or even oneself? Aidan Collier, guest lecturer, is a graduate student at UVic and a graduate of UBC. His research interests include moral psychology and ethical issues in contemporary media.
